Foreign Language Prohibiting Application Upload to SIS

Hello - We recently received an admissions application where the student completed a majority of the application using the English language, but for her address and high school information, she entered it using foreign language symbols. While this is only one individual and we used Notepad to correct the error, is there a way that the use of foreign language symbols can error out on the student's side?
