  • Because Alma/Primo is a SAS service, will the speed/responsiveness fluctuate? I’ve been told by Alma users that sometimes reports can a long time to run, depending on the time of day and how much activity is happening in Alma across the consortium. Is this true, and if so, what other tasks could this affect? Reports are usually not time-sensitive, but other tasks, such as fulfillment tasks, are.

Alma and Primo are supported by a redundant server infrastructure meaning that if traffic is excessive at the primary server, a redundant server can be implemented to share the traffic load.

Additionally, Ex Libris data centers are designed to provide at least over 15% of the required capacity, at any given time.
