Do colleges need to commit to both Alma AND Primo by October 31? Could we choose to just adopt Alma?

Yes, both platforms integrate, so there is no ability to separate their functionality.

I've had college in my district ask why the pricing is listed separately for Alma and Primo if we are not able to purchase them separately. They subscribe to Ebsco Discovery Service and are considering continuing using it.

The pricing separation is how it was displayed in the contract - even thought they are purchased together, they are separate products. If the library wishes to continue using EDS for discovery, that would be their choice, but they would to need to continue their existing contract. That being said, there is no full integration between Alma and EDS, and it would mean some extra work to set up EDS and ongoing work to maintain it. They’d still need to run Primo in the background as the interface for the patron account and requesting. It’s not an optimal arrangement.
