Students will typically fall into one of three categories:

    1. Student has created an OpenCCC Account/CCCID, and the CCCID is known to their college

    2. Student has never created an OpenCCC Account/CCCID

    3. Student has created an OpenCCC Account/CCCID, but the CCCID is not known to their college

For students who have created and an OpenCCC Account and the CCCID is known to their college, the CCCID is passed as an attribute when attempting to access CCCAssess. This will associate their newly created OpenCCC Account/CCCID to their known credentials. The student will seamlessly come into CCCAssess via a single sign on (SSO) user experience.

For students who have never created an OpenCCC Account/CCCID, the CCCID is not passed as an attribute, and therefore, the student will be asked to create a new account. This will associate their OpenCCC Account/CCCID to their known credentials. On subsequent visits, the student will seamlessly come into CCCAssess (or any other statewide application) and will not be asked to sign in to their account.

For students who have created an OpenCCC Account/CCCID, but the CCCID is not known to their college, the CCCID is not passed as an attribute.  The student will be asked to sign in to their existing account. This will associate their OpenCCC Account/CCCID to their known credentials. On subsequent visits, the student will seamlessly come into CCCAssess (or any other statewide application) and will not be asked to sign in to their account.

Currently, there is not a bulk-creation process to provide an OpenCCC Account/CCCID to students who do not have a CCCID. There are no additional steps required for staff.
