Yes, we are upgrading the "CCCApply Administrator" system. Very little will change from our current administrator, however there will be two new features that colleges will see:
1) A new "Spam Filter" user interface screen - that will funnel applications into a suspension folder that have been identified as fraudulent based on a new machine-learning web service and prediction model that has been under-development for the past year. Colleges will go into the Administrator to view the "Spam filter" and mark any applications that have been suspended there as either "Confirmed Fraud" or "Not Fraud".
The prediction service that is identifying these apps as fraud has been designed by a machine learning analytics team based on thousands of examples submitted by the colleges who have been hit by fraudulent applications over the past 18 months.
More detailed information will be disseminated to the colleges about the web service and the user-interface over the next few weeks, including tutorials and documentation to instruct college users on how to manage this new service.
2) Two new display filters have been built into the "Majors" module (where you upload your Majors into the Administrator to display in CCCApply) so that colleges can - if they choose - group their majors into different categories (the college chooses the categories) or by the student-chosen education goal. These two new filters will roll out with the new Administrator upgrade at the end of July.
As the first communication explained, there's a lot of information to disseminate to the college in this upcoming release - including the new features being added to the Administrator - we have planned weekly communication emails that will focus on specific aspects of the release and make it easier to digest.
