All 4 Los Rios colleges are experiencing the same issue with high volumes of Spam. Is there an option to turn off the SPAM filter?

I've already responded in another thread on this (indicating Saddleback College is seeing this issue as well) and I'd too like to recommend that the spam filter be turned off, if only temporarily, until the issue is resolved.

We're seeing about 100 or so applications stopped a day since this issue started.

We've been asking for a way to disable the filter for about a year. We are currently marking everything as real and letting our spam filters sort it out.

We are seeing LOTS of spam get thru that are totally bogus.  Today's all have email address of @students.solano.edu but the names are totally jibbrish, yet totally valid apps are getting hung up in spam.

THIS NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED AS A HIGH PRIORITY!

We've found about 1000 real apps in the filter so far.

Recent Issues with the CCCApply Spam Filter - Wednesday, June 12, 2019

Dear Colleague:

We are aware of a number of recent issues with CCCApply related to the spam filter system, which was implemented to help colleges combat fraudulent applications. A major update to the model used by the spam filter system was deployed on May 10th. In the weeks after this deployment we noticed that the system was generating a high volume of mistakes.

After analysis and multiple attempts at deploying other solutions, on June 7 we rolled the model used by the spam filter back to the model used before May 10th. We have been observing the results of this model continually since the rollback and the pattern has normalized. At this time, we consider the spam filter system to be stable to the same standards that it displayed in the previous deployment between September 29, 2018, and May 10th, 2019.

We continue to analyze the issues that were seen between May 10th and June 7 and will continue to work on improvements to the spam filter system for future deployments. We regret any negative impact related to the recent update that was rolled back and appreciate all contact from the colleges that informed us of the issues they encountered.

Questions and concerns related to this incident may be directed to Patty Donohue,  CCCApply Product Manager at pdonohue@ccctechcenter.org

Thank you.
