During the spike in spam applications, did any other colleges notice a spike in email address suffixes ending in "@quottlymail.com"? Using a website to check if these email addresses were valid, they were rendered bad email address. However, we had students call and ask why they never received their acceptance emails even if marked as valid applications.

I wrote a PLSQL procedure to look up the city and zip code associated with the IP Address from the CCCApply records with @quottlymail.com and almost all of them come back with the same or nearby city/zip as the permanment city and zip.  I then Google searched quottly mail and found https://www.quottly.com After looking at that website, I'd say most of the apps appear to be legit, but I think it might still be a good idea to do a reality check on the IP address metadata with the addresses from the app.

I've noticed many emails with quottly.com domains as well lately.  Most of my checks seem to indicate legitimate apps.  Except possibly IP addresses.  And unusual names.
