NOTICE: CCCApply Post Release Issues & Workarounds

We've received several issues reported from colleges since Friday's CCCApply 6.5.0 release, several of these issues have workarounds that colleges should be aware of.

CCCApply Report Center: Blank Screen Appearing on Homepage 
  • Issue:  Colleges are seeing a blank screen when landing on the CCCApply Report Center homepage.
  • Support:  The production support engineers are looking into the problem and will implement resolution as soon as possible.
  • Workaround: The Report Center is still functional while we troubleshoot and correct this UI bug. College users should select from the header menu bar to access:
      Library: List of all resources you are authorized to access (Views, Reports, Dashboards, Content Resources, etc.)
      View: Links to the Repository - Organization tree of public and custom folder structure
      Manage: Manage Users and Roles  
    Create new Ad Hoc View, Report, Dashboard or Domain

500 Error on Spam Filter Interface
  • Issue: Users are getting a 500 Error message when landing on their Spam Filter Utility page. 
  • Support:  The production support engineers are looking for root cause.
  • Workaround:  Refresh the page and the error message will disappear. The web service is still functional once the 500 error is removed.

Temporary Spam Blocks - Whitelist
  • Issue: As a temporary measure only, three fraud prevention submission blocks were reinstated to the CCCApply Standard application in Friday's release. These blocks will display an error message to the user and prevent them from submitting their application IF: 
    1) Their email address (full email or alias) is associated with 5 or more different CCCID accounts;
    2) Their email address (full email or alias) is associated with 10 or more submitted applications within a 24-hour period;
    3) They attempt to submit their application in under 90 seconds (between start time and submission).  

  • Support: Legitimate students attempting to submit legitimate application should contact the CCCTC Support team (phone number within the error message) for easy instructions to continue with application submission. 

  • WHITELIST WORKAROUND The purpose of these temporary blocks is to thwart fraud and prevent spammers from attacking our system. However, the Tech Center also realizes that colleges have a legitimate need to manually enter applications for special populations (i.e., incarcerated students, etc.). Therefore, an email whitelist has been implemented to allow authorized college staff/admin users to submit applications using the same email address or CCCID account.  If your college would like to request an email address be added to the whitelist, please send a request to:  Patty Donohue, Product Manager, c/o CCCTC Staff Support: 

    Your request should include:
      Name of College 
      College MIS Code
      Name of Authorized Staff Member or Administrator
      Email Address
      Reason for Whitelist (population served).
