Multiple Measures Initiative
If high school grade point average (GPA) will be a standardized question asked at the beginning of the new statewide common assessment how will international students, adult re-entry, and non-high school graduates be treated? Will they be able to bypass the question or will there be other questions asked in lieu of GPA?
Could you clarify what constitutes multiple measures and how they can be used? For example, could a college use GPA (measure 1) and highest level of coursework (measure 2) as two separate multiple measures? Or is high school work (GPA, highest level of coursework, grades in high school course work) considered one type of measure and a second type measure, such as a test or non-cognitive assessment, as the other? Could colleges place students based only on their high school work (using multiple measures such GPA, highest coursework, grades in English or Math, etc.) or does there need to be another type of assessment?
